Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy restaurant environment
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Must comply with company standards and health regulations

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Provides guests with information about Benihana foods during cooking or upon inquiry
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows their instructions
- Prepares various meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units and floors
- Maintains kitchen, teppan cooking areas, and food storage clean and organized
- Complies with company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, quality, recipes, and service
- Prepares foods according to portion standards and recipe specifications
- Adheres to company guidelines on food presentation and garnishes
- Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods properly following health and safety laws
- Uses knives, tools, and equipment to portion, cut, slice, and prepare food
- Adheres to guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Presents a clean and neat appearance and uses courteous manners with guests
- Notifies management immediately of guest dissatisfaction or accidents
- Participates in ensuring guest special occasion celebrations are memorable
- Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor
