Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Availability to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally and smaller amounts frequently
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to perform frequent pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, bending, and stooping
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
  • Ability to safely use cleaning and sanitizing solutions while wearing gloves

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • On-the-job training is provided
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well with dining services staff and student employees
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to learn proper use of cleaning chemicals and products
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Availability to work rotating shifts, including regular evening and weekend assignments

Job Duties

  • Operate and monitor the dish machine before, during, and after mealtimes, ensuring proper washing and sanitation of dishes, flatware, and cookware
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish room and related equipment
  • Assist in training and providing feedback to part-time staff
  • Support recycling program by sorting materials and ensuring procedures are followed
  • Restock service and production areas with clean equipment and supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean uniform, practice proper sanitation and safe work habits
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions
  • Perform related duties as assigned
