The Charlotte, North Carolina location in the vibrant SouthPark area is currently seeking enthusiastic and skilled back-of-house (BOH) team members to join the kitchen as line cooks on an hourly basis. As a BOH team member, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to precise recipes and guest specifications while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Multitasking is essential to efficiently handle multiple orders simultaneously and uphold the high standards of presentation, taste, and quality that define Bobby’s Burgers. You will be accountable for following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in all aspects of food preparation—from measuring portions accurately to ensuring proper storage and sanitation. The position requires a dependable, team-oriented individual with at least one year of food handling or cooking experience preferred, though not required, along with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented kitchen setting. Knowledge of food safety regulations, good communication skills, and a customer service mindset are also highly valued. Physically, the job requires standing or walking for up to eight hours per day, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and exposure to varying temperatures and cleaning chemicals.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant kitchen preparation and cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of and ability to meet health and food safety regulations
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • Ability to use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and drug test

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired but not required
  • 1+ years minimum work experience in kitchen preparation or cooking in a restaurant or food service role is valued
  • Culinary and/or some college education is a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of food safety standards including ServSafe certification is valued but not mandatory
  • Good guest service skills
  • Strong work ethic and dependable team player
  • Knowledge of units of measure and basic math skills
  • Ability to work assigned schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn basic tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment

Job Duties

  • Prepares food during shifts by following the specifications
  • Prepares, washes, and cuts food that is to be cooked
  • Prepares and cooks food according to instructions provided on food, order slips, or through verbal directions
  • Verifies the quality and quantity of all orders
  • Multitasks by cooking several different orders at once, ensuring that all items are prepared in accordance with guest orders and at the highest quality
  • Maintains overall sanitation, health, cleanliness, and safety standards for food preparation areas, cooking surfaces dishes, and utensils
  • Measures food items and portions accurately
  • Adheres to all quality standards, portion sizes, policies, and procedures
  • Ensures all food is properly prepared in a timely manner and to specifications
  • Ensures proper storage of food by maintaining proper temperatures
  • Keeps all menu items fresh and ensures they retain the highest quality
  • Carries out opening and/or closing duties of their station(s)
  • Ensures equipment and workstation are adequately stocked, organized, and clean
  • Follows a "clean-as-you-go" philosophy
  • Adheres to all sanitation regulations and health codes
  • Works an estimated 35-40 hour work week, primarily full time but open to part-time
