Job Requirements

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in hotel or related field
  • Or 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years related experience
  • Or 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years related experience
  • Maintain warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance as per hotel standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Comply with hotel standards and regulations
  • Effective problem solving and anticipating skills
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
  • Multi-brand experience required
  • Travel availability required

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions and review of sales and operations efforts
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate programs in a timely fashion
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with all department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and proper accounting procedures
  • Develop managers through competency training and corporate programs
  • Conduct daily sales meetings focused on prospecting and account calls
  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales including client meetings and hosting events
  • Participate in required manager-on-duty coverage as scheduled
  • Monitor and support management trainees' development
  • Adhere to and train new managers on Highgate policies and procedures
  • Oversee and assist in hotel budget processes
  • Ensure service standards training compliance in all departments
  • Foster a positive team environment focusing on guest experience
  • Inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and engineering managers
  • Ensure daily invoice processing and monthly financial document compliance
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance programs
  • Ensure employees provide attentive and courteous service
  • Forecast monthly hotel financial positions and reforecast as needed
  • Conduct management interviews and hiring according to SOPs
  • Perform performance appraisals and ensure compliance with counseling and disciplinary procedures
  • Motivate and counsel management personnel per SOPs
  • Perform duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
  • Meet clients on property to assist sales efforts
  • Be present in public areas during peak times greeting guests
  • Ensure hotel safe security and monthly audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and support credit policies
  • Complete required corporate training modules and certification
  • Ensure all scheduled meetings take place on property
