Job Requirements

  • No formal education required
  • Between 1 and more than 3 years of culinary experience
  • Ability to obtain valid local and/or state food handling permits
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, frequent bending, reaching, and stretching
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work full-time or part-time on-site

Job Duties

  • Prepare all ingredients and food products to complete prep lists, meet minimum and optimum inventory or PAR levels, and follow rotation and recipe standards
  • Use various preparation and cooking methods to ensure the quick and accurate creation of sushi menu items in accordance with JOEY recipes
  • Wash, chop, cut, grill, sauté, fry, etc., coordinate with other stations as necessary
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and safe preparation and cooking areas
  • Clean, organize, and maintain refrigerators, refrigerated drawers, ovens, prep areas, and dry storage
  • Perform opening, closing, and additional assigned tasks to support team success, assist kitchen staff as needed
  • Follow all instructions and guidelines for safe use of kitchen equipment and cleaning products, report equipment or maintenance issues immediately to management
  • Adhere to all safety precautions and procedures in food service and handling
