Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years experience preparing Japanese cuisine preferred
  • knowledge of Japanese culinary techniques and ingredients
  • positive attitude and ability to work well with team members
  • excellent critical thinking, time management and organizational skills
  • clear communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • ability to follow directions and ask for clarification
  • physical ability to perform job functions including manual dexterity with knives
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • clean restaurant industry specific non-slip shoes required
  • socks must be worn

Job Qualifications

  • At least 4 years experience preparing and presenting Japanese cuisine preferred
  • knowledge of unique or local ingredients
  • superior culinary skills in Japanese and fusion cuisine
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • ability to work well in a team
  • positive attitude and problem resolution skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare sushi rolls including special menu items
  • make nigiri and sashimi dishes with precision
  • ensure all orders are complete and food presentation meets high standards of appearance
  • maintain knowledge of menu items and ingredients
  • uphold hygiene and cleanliness in food preparation areas
  • communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations
  • resolve food or service complaints promptly
