Job Requirements
- Must be 18 or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Safety Certified
- One to three years of related experience
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly
- Visual acuity including depth perception, color vision, and field of vision
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hy-Vee food safety training
- food safety certified
- One to three years of similar or related work experience
- Prior meal preparation experience preferred
- Ability to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems
- Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Ability to compose original correspondence and follow technical manuals
- Strong interpersonal skills for customer interaction and team collaboration
Job Duties
- Prepares fresh sushi for customers both packaged and made-to-order
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner both in the department and elsewhere in the store
- Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking product orders
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer requests
- Works with co-workers as a team and provides training to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and maintains a clean and neat work area
- Involved in schedules and overseeing food ordering and planning
- Communicates with customers regarding food and preparation
- Aids in merchandising sushi foods and food layout
- Attends company and industry meetings as assigned
- Adheres to company policies and report to work on time
