Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school degree or GED
  • Relevant experience working in a licensed child care center, public school, or commercial kitchen
  • Food service or food handler permit or license according to state or local regulations
  • Must pass state and company background checks
  • Comply with immunizations and health screenings
  • Ability to work in person at early education centers
  • Must adhere to Bright Horizons policies and regulatory requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED
  • Relevant experience in licensed child care center, public school, or commercial kitchen
  • Food service or food handler permit or license according to state or local regulations
  • Ability to manage inventory and order supplies
  • Knowledge of nutrition and food safety practices
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals for children and staff
  • Keep an accurate inventory of supplies and place orders as needed
  • Manage all aspects of prepping and preparing meals
  • Clean kitchen and comply with sanitation requirements
  • Support multiple center locations as a substitute cook
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during food preparation
  • Maintain positive communication with staff regarding menu needs and food service
