Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years management experience in retail or premium food and beverage
- Experience in busy and bespoke luxury retail environments preferred
- Leadership skills with coaching and team development experience
- Ability to lead and sell by example
- Proven success in meeting sales targets and KPIs
- Knowledge of food hygiene, allergens, and health and safety compliance preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel as required
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent minimum
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in retail or premium food and beverage sectors
- Experience in busy, bespoke luxury retailing environments preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching, team development, motivation, and communication
- Experience leading teams of 10 or more direct reports
- Proven ability to sell and lead by example with excellent customer service
- Strong track record of beating sales forecasts and achieving KPIs
- Knowledge of food hygiene, allergens, and health and safety compliance is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Confident communicator with adaptable communication styles
- Previous stakeholder management experience is beneficial
Job Duties
- Recruit talented and enthusiastic team members and develop and coach them to deliver profitable sales growth through excellent customer experiences
- Drive high performance by setting clear objectives and providing regular feedback and reviews
- Motivate store teams to achieve their full potential and encourage continuous improvement
- Foster a culture of positivity and a can-do spirit among the team
- Take responsibility for personal development and maintain a growth mindset
- Assist in developing recognition, incentive, and reward programs within the district
- Nurture and develop the team to achieve business and personal goals
- Act as a brand ambassador by sharing retail and product knowledge to ensure consistent customer experiences
- Uphold the highest operational standards according to Retail Excellence guidelines
- Align store activities with Hotel Chocolat's mission and business strategies
- Create store-specific plans to ensure profitability
- Seek opportunities to increase sales and innovate based on team and customer feedback
- Monitor results and implement actions to meet targets and budgets
- Plan staff schedules to effectively manage payroll costs
- Identify and manage operational risks, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies
- Share best practices within the store and with the wider Retail Management team
- Attend district meetings and company events
- Travel as directed to support other stores and company sites
- Collaborate with stakeholders across districts and the wider business
- Support company initiatives and in-store experiences
- Lead assigned projects under the direction of the District Manager
- Perform ad-hoc duties as required
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and legal trading practices
- Act as the Personal License Holder for alcohol sales ensuring team compliance
