Job Requirements

- resume or transcripts must clearly show specialized experience and education
- specialized experience must be demonstrated knowledge of retail procurement, distribution, merchandising, and management
- physical ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 40 pounds unassisted
- ability to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, climb for prolonged periods
- meet time-in-grade for current and former federal employees
- possess competencies in commissary operations, interpersonal skills, supervision
- occasional overtime
- not covered by bargaining unit
- exempt under Fair Labor Standards Act
- submission of transcripts if relying on education

- foreign education evaluated by accredited organization

Job Qualifications
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level for GS-9
- master’s or equivalent graduate degree with related major for GS-9
- combination of specialized experience and education for GS-9
- one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-8 for GS-10
- two and one-half years of higher graduate education with related major for GS-10
- one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-9 for GS-11
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three years of higher graduate education with related major for GS-11
- one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 for GS-12
- knowledge of retail procurement and distribution methods
- understanding of retail food merchandising principles
- experience in retail food store management
Job Duties
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and control day-to-day retail operations of a commissary
- manage procurement and distribution methods
- oversee retail food merchandising and store management
- develop and interpret policies and procedures
- provide technical advice on merchandising and operational matters
- supervise staff and promote interpersonal skills
- ensure compliance with physical and regulatory requirements
