Job Requirements

  • At least six months previous experience working in a full service dining venue preferred
  • Experience providing high-touch guest service expected in an upscale room environment preferred
  • Must be team-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in a very high-paced, busy environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Health work card
  • Alcohol awareness work card
  • Non-gaming work card
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 35 lbs
  • Walking or standing up to 100 percent of the time, including movement on slippery and/or narrow surfaces
  • Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity 75 percent of the time
  • Vision, hearing, speaking and literacy (critical)
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Working inside in a noisy, smoky, and hot or cold environment

Job Duties

  • Greet the guest in an upbeat and positive manner
  • Pre-determine which food plates are for which guests and present the items without having to ask guest(s) who ordered each plate
  • Balance and carry large banquet trays with food to the table
  • Enthusiastically deliver food orders from the kitchen to the guest tables
  • Maintain strong knowledge of menu items, beverages and proper garnish and plate specifications
  • assist Expeditor with garnishment duties, as needed
  • Prepare 'to-go' orders for guests
  • Assist bus persons with the clearing and cleaning of tables and replenishing guests' water and/or non-alcoholic beverages
  • Assist with resolving guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction and communicate situation to management
  • Provide outstanding guest service expected in an upscale dining outlet throughout the dining experience
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel services and local activities in order to respond to guest inquiries
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Reset both large and small trays to ensure proper supplies are available
  • Ensure all food is served within health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Maintain knowledge and comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and service standard expectations
  • Assist other employees, when needed, in instances of side work, drink orders, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
