Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- four years of full-time substance abuse treatment experience
- current licensure as Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor or Qualified Credentialed Counselor
- valid CPR and first aid certifications
- valid Texas driver's license
- willingness to work full-time Monday to Friday
- ability to manage complex counseling tasks
- strong organizational and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- major coursework in criminal justice or behavioral science preferred
- four years of full-time experience in substance abuse treatment
- current licensure as Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor by Texas DSHS or valid Qualified Credentialed Counselor
- therapeutic community environment experience preferred
- experience supervising employees preferred
- current CPR and first aid certifications
- valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
Job Duties
- Assist in planning chemical dependency counseling programs
- coordinate delivery of counseling services to offenders with chemical use histories
- provide comprehensive evaluations using valid assessment tools
- participate in developing individual treatment plans
- provide counseling and recovery skills training
- participate in offender orientation and group counseling
- maintain a therapeutic community environment within the facility
- maintain offender and program records and compile data
- develop Individual Progress Summaries for offenders
- submit Individual Progress Summaries to Parole Division
