Job Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a sous chef or kitchen manager in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
- culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a scratch kitchen environment
- strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- deep appreciation for authentic barbecue and a desire to continue learning and evolving culinary techniques
- solid understanding of food cost, labor management, and kitchen operations
- ability to thrive under pressure and maintain a calm, focused presence
- comfortable working on feet for extended periods
- able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- must be able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to manage all aspects of kitchen operations including prep, execution, inventory, and cleanliness
- ensure all dishes are prepared to company specifications in taste, appearance, and portioning
- maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation
- train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff
- foster a culture of teamwork and accountability
- assist in managing food and labor costs to achieve company goals
- support in scheduling and managing daily kitchen workflow especially during peak service hours
- uphold the core culinary traditions and standards that define Midwood Smokehouse while remaining open to innovation
