Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma
  • three to five years experience with kitchen operations and staff supervision
  • certification in Serve Safe Management course
  • ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • demonstrated team management and coaching skills
  • ability to handle multiple projects and issues effectively

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • post-secondary culinary training preferred
  • brand certification a plus
  • three to five years of experience in kitchen operations and staff supervision
  • Serve Safe Management certification
  • skilled in team management, delegation, issue resolution, coaching and motivating others
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • ability to read, speak and comprehend instructions and policies
  • excellent communication skills

Job Duties

  • Assist in supervising the day to day activities of kitchen staff
  • assign responsibilities for specified work and set deadlines to ensure timely completion
  • promote safety and sanitation by inspecting food handling and maintaining safe practices
  • follow HACCP procedures
  • assist with menu planning, inventory management, and supplies oversight
  • maintain effective cost control, service and quality standards to maximize sales and profits
  • comply with company and regulatory operation standards
  • serve as a resource in resolving complex kitchen issues
  • provide recommendations for hiring, firing, and promotion decisions
  • maintain communication and positive associate relations including performance reviews and discipline
  • ensure the highest quality of customer service and proper staff training
