Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in a high volume kitchen
- 2+ years in a leadership or management role
- Serve Safe Certification
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Willingness to work long hours and frequent weekends
- Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced kitchen environment
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as fryers, ranges, ovens, and other appliances
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or culinary degree/certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years high volume kitchen experience
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership or management role in a kitchen operation
- Serve Safe Certification required
Job Duties
- Assist Executive Chef with training and development of kitchen personnel
- Work with Event Planners, food team, FOH team to plan and successfully execute all events
- Work with Culinary Management to plan, price, and implement menu items
- Meet weekly with the Executive Chef
- Prepare all required paperwork, orders, inventories, forms, and other reports in an accurate manner
- Administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any violations of company policies
- Assist Executive Chef with employment and termination decisions including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and disciplining kitchen personnel
- Identify and manage staff projects
- Ensure security and proper handling of company property
- Assist with accurate orders and deliveries
- Monitor and control food cost and usage
- Open and close the kitchen properly
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and equipment
- Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperatures
- Ensure equipment and food storage are clean and well maintained
- Take 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Ensure consistent food preparation and presentation
- Assist in food preparation during off-peak periods
- Stock food products at line stations
- Prepare food items for various cooking methods
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup
- Assist in creating unique catering for high-end clients
- Assist Executive Chef with weekly feature creation
- Interact professionally using Spare Time Service Standards
- Serve guests utilizing Spare Time Entertainment's Steps of Service
- Respond personally to guest questions and complaints
- Report company violations to management
- Perform other duties as assigned
