Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in upscale banquet or hotel kitchen
- Prior supervisory experience
- State issued health certificate and required immunizations
- Serve Safe certification
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and flexible schedule
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Physical capability to lift, push or carry heavy objects
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Basic computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar position in upscale banquet, hotel or convention center setting
- Prior supervisory experience
- State issued Health Certificate and immunizations
- Technical proficiency in food preparation methods
- Effective communication and active listening skills
- Ability to train, motivate and coach staff
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize and work independently and in a team
- Flexible availability including nights and weekends
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and handle heavy objects
- Good sense of taste and smell
- Serve Safe certification
- Knowledge of computer software including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Commitment to customer service
- Understanding of health and safety standards
- Ability to multi-task and maintain concentration
- Knowledge of mathematics relevant to kitchen operations
- Familiarity with US Foods Menu Profit Pro is a plus
Job Duties
- Supervise all line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
- Delegated tasks to line personnel
- Measure, mix and cook ingredients according to recipes
- Use pots, pans, knives and other equipment to prepare and serve food
- Maintain a clean kitchen and food production areas
- Provide ongoing training, coaching and mentoring to kitchen staff
- Assist Executive Chef in ensuring food quality, consistency and adherence to standards
- Monitor production and food presentation
- Guide, direct and motivate kitchen employees
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards
- Communicate with supervisors, peers and subordinates
- Make decisions, solve problems, organize and prioritize work
- Document and record personnel discipline information
- Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
