Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of professional culinary experience
  • Culinary degree or certification preferred but not required with equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of food service management principles
  • Excellent skills in food handling and preparation techniques
  • Ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Strong understanding of food safety protocols
  • Ability to read English and follow dietary cards, menus and production sheets

Job Qualifications

  • Background in nutrition or specialized diets such as mechanical, pureed, low-sodium, diabetic diets
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of professional culinary experience including assisted living dining, high-end hospitality, or open-kitchen concepts
  • Experience working in high-pressure environments while maintaining quality and presentation
  • Strong knowledge of food service management principles including inventory control and menu planning
  • Excellent skills in food handling and preparation techniques
  • Ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff effectively
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary arts and catering services
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate teamwork within the kitchen environment
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to read English and follow dietary cards, menus and production sheets

Job Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and standards for quality and presentation
  • Participate in menu planning including seasonal changes and special events
  • Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and support to ensure efficient workflow
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen in compliance with health regulations
  • Collaborate with catering teams for special events, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals
  • Handle food safely and adhere to proper food handling procedures
