Job Requirements

  • associates degree or culinary arts certification preferred
  • 1-3 years experience as chef or sous chef
  • 7 years experience as cook
  • supervisory experience preferred
  • ability to work in fast paced environment
  • strong leadership skills
  • ability to train others
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to handle physical demands of kitchen work
  • must complete all required company training including servsafe
  • compliance with company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • associates degree in culinary arts or culinary arts certification preferred
  • minimum 1-3 years experience as a chef or sous chef
  • minimum 7 years experience as a cook
  • supervisory experience in high volume or food production environment preferred
  • in-flight catering or high-volume food service experience preferred
  • ability to cook meals according to detailed specifications
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • ability to train others
  • excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • strong organizational, analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • innovative mindset with ability to improve operations
  • experience with menu design a plus
  • basic computer skills and microsoft office knowledge preferred
  • servsafe certification preferred
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • bilingual in spanish a plus

Job Duties

  • ensure food specifications and labor objectives meet company and customer requirements
  • supervise department for quality and quantity
  • ensure items are produced and dated according to specification and coding systems
  • manage attendance and paperwork
  • set up shifts and assign employees
  • order raw materials and produce extra meals as needed
  • prepare daily production sheets and assign tasks
  • train employees on preparation procedures
  • maintain safety and cleanliness standards
  • manage hot and cold kitchen production for quality and consistency
  • ensure compliance with wage and hour policies
  • monitor and train employees for productivity and cost control
  • plan manpower and schedule employees
  • focus on employee retention and reduce turnover
  • provide coaching and corrective actions
  • ensure correct job titles and pay rates
  • complete required company training including ServSafe
  • comply with company policies and procedures
