Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a kitchen environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player mentality

Job Qualifications

  • Proven culinary experience preferably in luxury hotel or resort settings
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to develop creative menu items aligned with brand standards
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
  • Experience in scheduling, payroll, and employee training

Job Duties

  • Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities
  • Assume the role of liaison between all departments within the culinary division and all other hotel departments
  • Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items
  • Develop and implement creative menu items that adhere to Hyatt brand standards
  • Plan, coordinate and implement special events and holiday functions
  • Manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
  • Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis
  • Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
