Job Requirements

  • minimum of 2 years cook experience
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • must be 21 years or older
  • pass all required pre-screening and background checks
  • internal candidates must have six months in current position with no active disciplinary action in last six months
  • ability to work a variety of shifts including day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday
  • must be able to obtain required work cards and non-gaming registration as required by local jurisdiction
  • must be able to move throughout work area
  • able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods
  • able to engage with guests and work under pressure
  • able to communicate professionally
  • able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • work in environment with noise and smoking permitted
  • able to follow safety policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • support the Room Chef in all aspects of food quality, cost control, completing inventories and training back of house team members
  • participate in the financial review process including researching, responding to inquiries and reporting results
  • document recipes, measurements, quantities, and other information for consistent duplication
  • train culinary team on each recipe and monitor adherence
  • ensure that kitchen operating procedures are consistently met
  • provide leadership to back of house team including training, mentoring and corrective counseling
  • assist in interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new back of house staff
  • schedule staff and assist in payroll activities
  • communicate effectively with front of house management and staff
  • support and lead food prep for service ensuring prep items meet approved standards
  • oversee line during service focusing on high volume periods
  • manage flow of kitchen and food to maintain service standards
  • prepare and coordinate daily prep sheets
  • collaborate with Room Chef on menu creations and daily specials
  • manage inventory and costs with Room Chef
  • process requisitions properly
  • monitor and receive products to meet standards
  • maintain knowledge of food products ensuring proper rotation
  • label and date products for safety and sanitation
  • safely use kitchen equipment and cleaning products
  • provide excellent service to guests including friendly interactions and meeting guest needs
  • develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness in work
  • follow company safety policies and procedures
  • maintain regular attendance
  • uphold professionalism and appearance standards
  • inform manager of irregularities
  • remain calm and helpful in high-stress situations
  • act with honesty and integrity
  • work independently or as part of a team
  • comply with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry
