Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment
- Hospitality-minded with a passion for food service
- Ability to work flexible schedules
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
Job Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation and kitchen management
- Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
- Knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards
- Understanding of inventory and ordering procedures
- Experience with menu development and implementation
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including AM and PM shifts
Job Duties
- Assists in the planning, scheduling and supervising of kitchen personnel
- Assists in the development of all menus and assures implementation and production of these menus consistent with Kitchen Manager's expectations
- Assures staff education is provided to kitchen employees in accordance with the staff education program
- Provides on-the-job training for food preparation and kitchen employees
- Develops work assignments for all kitchen personnel, assigning special jobs and spot checking work to ensure standards are met
- Assists in all ordering, receiving and proper storage of all food and supplies
- Supervises production, sanitation and food service to apartment and Health Center residents
- Handles inventory controls and maintaining minimum/maximum par levels
- Monitors all line checks, temperature logs and systems pertaining to kitchen operations
- Leads in the development and implementation of standardized recipes and menu specifications
- Performs specific work duties as assigned by supervisor
- Ensures all DHEC controls are in place, including cleanliness, proper heating and cooling, and proper holding of products in coolers and freezers
