Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in kitchen or hospitality roles
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to work flexible AM and PM shifts
- Willingness to work in a not-for-profit retirement community setting
- Strong teamwork and customer service orientation
- Physical ability to perform kitchen duties including standing for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- Experience in a hospitality or culinary environment
- Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Capable of menu development and food production oversight
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to adhere to health department regulations
- Experience with inventory control and ordering processes
Job Duties
- Assists in planning, scheduling and supervising kitchen personnel
- Assists in the development and implementation of menus consistent with Kitchen Manager's expectations
- Provides staff education and on-the-job training for kitchen employees
- Develops work assignments and supervises kitchen staff to meet standards
- Assists with ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food and supplies
- Supervises production, sanitation and food service to residents
- Handles inventory controls and maintains minimum/maximum par levels
- Monitors line checks, temperature logs and kitchen operation systems
- Leads development and implementation of standardized recipes and menu specifications
- Performs duties assigned by supervisor
- Ensures compliance with health and sanitation regulations
