  • must be able to work full-time days and nights with some weekends
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • must comply with all food safety regulations and standards
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • must be flexible to work varied shifts including weekends
  • must have legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Helps executive chef prepare and cook foods
  • coordinates activities of cooks and food-service associates
  • assumes responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in absence of executive chef
  • cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
  • supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions
  • stores food following all food safety and sanitation procedures
  • ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
  • maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
  • cleans workstations and keeps display equipment clean during service
  • interacts with customers to resolve complaints
  • explains menu items accurately to associates and customers
  • keeps up with peak production and service hours
  • monitors inventory, deliveries, tracks product production, consumption and waste
  • informs supervisor when supplies are low
  • performs other duties as assigned
