Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience working in a professional kitchen setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to lead and inspire a team
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic understanding of inventory management and cost control
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong understanding of various cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation regulations
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate staff
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Capability to handle pressure and multitask while maintaining attention to detail
- Culinary school certification or related training is preferred but not mandatory
Job Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus, ensuring consistency and quality
- Supervise and train kitchen staff on food preparation, presentation, and hygiene standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and inventory management
- Monitor and maintain kitchen safety protocols and compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely service during high-volume periods
- Contribute ideas to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance culinary offerings
- Step into the role of Head Chef during their absence to ensure uninterrupted operations
- Maintain clear communication with the front-of-house team to meet customer expectations
