Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- proven experience in a culinary or kitchen management role
- willingness to work approximately 50 hours per week including weekends
- ability to work flexible schedules including Monday through Sunday
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to comply with company policies and participate in client satisfaction programs
- physical ability to perform kitchen duties including standing for long periods
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- A.S. or equivalent experience
- some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience depending upon formal degree or training
- catering experience a plus
- experience with high volume, complex foodservice operations highly desirable
- knowledge of institutional and batch cooking helpful
- comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email and the internet
- ServSafe certification highly desirable
- ability to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities
Job Duties
- assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
- assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
- produce and execute catering events
- roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
- supervise hourly kitchen staff and provide training and guidance
- ensure compliance with sanitation and food safety standards
- maintain inventory and assist with ordering supplies
