Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years experience in a professional kitchen setting
- strong leadership and team management skills
- knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical kitchen tasks
- excellent communication skills
- flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
Job Qualifications
- proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- strong understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety protocols
- ability to work in high-pressure environments while maintaining attention to detail and quality
- exceptional organizational and leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team
- strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- relevant culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
Job Duties
- assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing menu items with creativity and consistency
- supervise kitchen staff to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to recipes and quality standards
- coordinate with the team to maintain an organized and clean kitchen environment, following food safety regulations
- train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering continuous skill development and teamwork
- monitor inventory levels, manage food costs, and ensure timely ordering of supplies
- collaborate with the Head Chef and Operations team to develop new menu items and improve current offerings
- oversee kitchen operations during the Head Chef's absence, ensuring smooth workflows and excellent service
- identify and resolve kitchen-related issues to minimize downtime and improve overall kitchen performance
