Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years experience in a professional kitchen setting
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
  • ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical kitchen tasks
  • excellent communication skills
  • flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • strong understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety protocols
  • ability to work in high-pressure environments while maintaining attention to detail and quality
  • exceptional organizational and leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team
  • strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • relevant culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred

Job Duties

  • assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing menu items with creativity and consistency
  • supervise kitchen staff to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to recipes and quality standards
  • coordinate with the team to maintain an organized and clean kitchen environment, following food safety regulations
  • train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering continuous skill development and teamwork
  • monitor inventory levels, manage food costs, and ensure timely ordering of supplies
  • collaborate with the Head Chef and Operations team to develop new menu items and improve current offerings
  • oversee kitchen operations during the Head Chef's absence, ensuring smooth workflows and excellent service
  • identify and resolve kitchen-related issues to minimize downtime and improve overall kitchen performance
