Job Requirements

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
minimum 2 years tractor-trailer or commercial driving experience
licensed to operate assigned vehicle
ability to meet all Federal and State requirements for commercial motor vehicle operation
clean driving record with no serious violations
ability to work at least 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, with overtime as required
ability to maintain clean personal and vehicle presentation
strong skills in backing trailers
available for local routes with daily home time

Job Qualifications

Minimum 2 years tractor-trailer or commercial driving experience
preferred 2 years yard hostler experience
licensed to operate assigned vehicle
clean driving record with no serious violations
strong driving and trailer backing skills
ability to work required hours and overtime as needed
ability to maintain clean presentation of driver and vehicle
good communication skills for radio transmission
knowledge of Federal and State regulations for commercial motor vehicles

Job Duties

Operate a yard tractor to shuttle trailers and containers as directed in tight company designated areas with uneven surfaces
maintain logs in accordance with Federal and State regulations and company needs
perform daily inspections of vehicles
ensure proper functioning of all safety-related features of vehicles and connected equipment during operation
refuel vehicles as needed
communicate clearly via radio transmission
complete daily yard inventory of trailers and ensure yard organization
set up shipping with empty trailers for load out and stage loaded trailers in yard drop areas
place packing lists and seals on trailers as assigned by shipping coordinator
