Job Duties
- assist the Chef in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining
- maintain adequate production level from kitchen staff through passive leadership
- develop knowledge and skills in cooking procedures such as grill, sauté, and fry
- use knives and various kitchen equipment proficiently
- recreate recipes consistently
- minimize food waste through cross utilization of ingredients
- create and prepare workstations with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
- prepare ingredients by chopping, peeling vegetables, and cutting meat
- maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment
- ensure proper storage and quality control of all food and other items
