  • willing to work a variety of day, night, and weekend shifts

  • able to be on feet for long periods
  • able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • at least 21 years of age

Job Qualifications

  • active Food handler's certification or ability to obtain it
  • previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment
  • strong desire to learn and develop culinary skills
  • ability to work independently
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds
  • at least 21 years of age

  • passion for culinary arts

Job Duties

  • assist the Chef in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining
  • maintain adequate production level from kitchen staff through passive leadership
  • develop knowledge and skills in cooking procedures such as grill, sauté, and fry
  • use knives and various kitchen equipment proficiently
  • recreate recipes consistently
  • minimize food waste through cross utilization of ingredients
  • create and prepare workstations with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
  • prepare ingredients by chopping, peeling vegetables, and cutting meat
  • maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment
  • ensure proper storage and quality control of all food and other items
