Job Requirements

  • active food handler's certification or the ability to get it
  • must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to work independently
  • able to stand for long periods
  • able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • at least 21 years of age
  • desire to exceed expectations
  • energetic personality

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment
  • ability to learn and develop culinary skills
  • knowledge of cooking procedures such as grilling, sautéing, and frying
  • creativity in menu development
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to work independently
  • passion for culinary arts
  • active food handler's certification or ability to obtain one

Job Duties

  • assist the chef in production and fabrication of food products
  • maintain a passive leadership role in production levels
  • develop knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures
  • use knives and kitchen equipment proficiently
  • recreate recipes consistently
  • minimize food waste through cross utilization
  • prepare ingredients such as chopping and peeling vegetables
  • keep the kitchen sanitized and orderly
  • ensure proper storage of food and ingredients
  • maintain ingredient quality
