Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must pass Illinois Food Handler Course within 60 days of hire
- Valid food handlers permit required
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to own physical demands including standing for extended hours and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must adhere to personal hygiene and safety policies
- Must maintain certification throughout employment

- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Must pass Illinois Food Handler Course within 60 days of hire

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers
- Must possess valid food handlers permit
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Displays behavior creating customer service culture by understanding client needs and demonstrating strong bias toward service, quality, and satisfaction
Job Duties
- Comply with all state and local health codes for food handling
- Adhere to the personal hygiene policy
- Attend all required training, in services, and staff meetings
- Meet all department training standards through regulatory training and/or other necessary training modules as required
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and coworkers
- Follow safety precautions to prevent accidents in food preparation according to accident prevention and back injury policies
- Avoid waste of products and time to affect budgets positively
- Strive to maintain a safe working environment through accident prevention, equipment preservation, and achievement of safe working practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Accept food order, communicate to kitchen and deliver food and beverage to residents and/or guests timely according to company policies and standards
- Ensure resident/guest satisfaction by responding quickly to needs and requests
- Collaborate with staff to ensure timely room service according to Tray Service/Pick Up policy
- Complete assigned side work and check out with Manager at shift completion
- Maintain clean and sanitary condition of work areas, china and equipment
