Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in serving food and beverage and following proper table service guidelines
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Motivated and results-driven
  • Thorough knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings including china, glass, flatware, food, and beverage as indicated by the kitchen ticket and the guidebook
  • Thorough knowledge of food including preparation and culinary terminology
  • Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds

Job Duties

  • Serves assigned seating section of dining area in a professional and gracious manner
  • Utilizes thorough knowledge of food including preparation and culinary terminology to provide detailed information to customers about menu items
  • Leverages knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits including technical and service procedures
  • Interacts graciously with the public and handles multiple duties at the same time
  • Participates in daily pre-shift meeting
  • Adheres to established accounting procedures for all transactions including all authorized methods of payment, and maintains knowledge of the POS system
  • Executes pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Fulfills duties that may involve lifting objects such as tables, chairs, highchairs
  • Cleans and maintains restaurant and workstation
  • Maintains the highest level of hygiene standards including clean, pressed uniform jacket and accompanying clothing and shoes
  • clean and professionally styled hair and nails, maintained to avoid food contamination risks
  • Exercises integrity with scheduling
  • Punches in before and out after every scheduled shift
  • Follows established procedure for schedule and shift changes
  • Takes appropriate lunch breaks when applicable, punching accordingly
  • Coordinates holiday, vacation, and any time off with management while considering the needs of the restaurant
