Job Requirements

  • Exhibits strong customer service skills including multi-tasking
  • Previous bar experience a plus
  • Outgoing and engaging with guests to ensure a great event experience
  • Open to cross-training and assisting in other departments
  • Willing to lift, carry or move up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally with assistance
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, use hands handle or feel, talk and hear regularly
  • Commitment to provide highest quality service
  • Motivated and committed to team success
  • Food service and food handling experience a plus
  • Previous hotel experience not necessary

  • Knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, and hotel amenities
  • Familiarity with local area shopping, entertainment, and dining options

Job Duties

  • Move tables, chairs and audio-visual equipment in and out of meeting rooms
  • Set-up and attend certain events with a positive attitude to ensure each group function runs smoothly
  • Clean tables, chairs and carpets in function space
  • Maintain, organize and inventory banquet equipment
  • Assist with catering function for events and/or assist kitchen with supplies, set-up, maintenance, cleanliness of areas and perform any other duties as assigned
  • Lift, carry or otherwise move up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Lift, carry or otherwise move up to 100 lbs occasionally with assistance
  • Follow proper moving and lifting procedures
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach, use hands handle or feel, talk and hear
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times
  • Present all food and beverage items in an efficient and personable manner using the designated serving styles
  • Maintain a working knowledge of food and drink menu items, promotions, ingredients, and prep time
  • Keep all food and alcohol items stocked, organized, and maintained during evening reception
  • Maintain organization and food safety standards of all food storage areas
  • Promptly, effectively, and empathetically assist with guest requests
  • Be very knowledgeable of Marriott Rewards program and promotions
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, and amenities of the hotel
  • Be knowledgeable of the local area, including: shopping, entertainment, and dining
  • Complete any other related task given by manager
