Genesee Country Village & Museum, located in Mumford, NY, just 25 miles outside of Rochester, is the largest living history museum in New York State. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Eight to ten years of facilities management or supervisory experience
- Proven leadership in project planning and management
- Strong budget and vendor management ability
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting
- Mechanical aptitude relevant to physical plant maintenance
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Capacity to sit, stand for long periods, lift 30-50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in inclement weather
- Valid NYS driver’s license required
Job Qualifications
- Eight to ten years of progressive facilities management or supervisory experience
- Strong managerial and organizational skills specific to facilities management including project planning, budget management, preventive maintenance, and bid analysis
- Ability to develop vendor relationships
- Familiarity with IT issues and project management
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and solve problems
- Working knowledge of state, municipal, and local building and fire codes and environmental regulations
- Valid NYS driver’s license
Job Duties
- Supervise managers of facilities, security, and housekeeping including hiring, scheduling, assigning tasks, and training
- Develop and maintain departmental budgets and work plans for maintenance of buildings, HVAC systems, septic systems, service roads, and parking lots
- Serve as project manager for all contractor work on non-historic buildings
- Manage Safety Committee and provide safety and security training for all staff
- Oversee repair, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment and vehicles and manage capital needs and equipment purchases
- Provide operational support for special events, education, and rentals including set-ups and tear downs
- Collaborate with other departments to meet facilities, security, and housekeeping needs
- Manage Director of Information Technology and overall IT infrastructure including servers, software, phones, internet, security systems, and cameras
- Plan and maintain technology replacement and usage strategies
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NYS Health Department, and local building codes and regulations
- Maintain positive relationships with local police, health, and fire departments
- Serve as member of Administrative Committee and manage Facilities Committee work
- Interact frequently with Board of Trustees, donors, and stakeholders
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the President and CEO
