Job Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum six months brokerage experience required
  • Minimum one year customer contact experience required
  • Data entry and keyboard proficiency required
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook required
  • CCS and/or Brokers license preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills required
  • Ability to handle high volume and time sensitive work required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision required
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials required
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules required

Job Qualifications

  • Six months brokerage experience required
  • One year experience with customer contact required
  • Proficient in data entry and keyboard skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and email applications such as Outlook
  • CCS and/or Brokers license preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem solving abilities
  • Able to handle high volume of work and time sensitive tasks
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules

Job Duties

  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • Engage with customers regarding commodities requiring specialized processing to reduce risk of liquidated damages and penalties through classification and duty preference applications
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from database, SOPs, tariff book, internet or customs
  • Data entry and processing of various import related documentation for submission to US Customs and all participating Government Agencies
  • Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with all record keeping requirements
  • Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations
  • Work closely with internal staff, departments, other FedEx OpCo’s, customers and government agencies to deliver high level of service
  • Process agency brokerage shipments
  • Handle remote filings
  • Perform entry reconciliations and reviews as needed
  • Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed
  • Follow up on Customs matters and resolve problems
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Paid training provided
