Job Requirements
- Must pass Illinois Food Handler Course within 60 days of hire
- Must obtain and maintain valid food handlers permit
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to maintain proper food temperature and sanitation
- Ability to work under time constraints
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively
- Must have basic mathematical skills
- Must demonstrate CJE values in work behavior
- Must maintain certification throughout employment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Two to three years related experience and/or training preferred
- Knowledge of proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment proficiently
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to follow recipes and portion controls
- Good knife skills and knowledge of kitchen safety
- Customer service skills
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area
