Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or over with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • food handler's permit required
  • five or more years of experience as a sous chef with understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • ability to provide accurate and quick solutions when handling emergency situations
  • general knowledge of various computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, Point of Sale systems or restaurant management software
  • history of responsible use of alcohol and appropriate conduct, fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies
  • able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • able to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist with the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus
  • produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
  • ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets quality standards
  • fill in for the Chef de Cuisine in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
  • resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule, and assess staff's performance
  • maintain clean and orderly coolers, walk-ins, and dry storage areas
  • comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
