Job Requirements
- Driver’s license type B required or ability to obtain commercial class B license with tanker endorsement within 120 days
- reliable attendance and punctuality
- physical ability to perform medium to heavy work including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally
- willingness to work in urban and traffic-heavy environments
- ability to follow safety protocols
- no prior high school diploma required
- ability to use equipment requiring moderate instruction
Job Qualifications
- Over one year and up to two years of relevant experience
- ability to read and understand technical instructions and procedures
- capable of performing skilled work involving routine problem solving
- good communication skills to interact with customers and coworkers
- basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- ability to safely operate large vehicles and equipment with moderate experience
Job Duties
- Operate sanitation trucks and vehicles to collect and deposit trash
- change out, replace, and clean trash containers
- pick up loose trash and debris
- maintain grounds including mowing, weed eating, and sweeping
- direct traffic at transfer stations
- steam and degrease containers preparing them for repair or painting
- assist on trim crews and complete related sanitation tasks
