Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of three years progressive sales experience
- Previous hospitality industry experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel sales software
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including varied shifts
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to travel locally for client meetings and site inspections
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of progressive sales experience
- Previous experience in hospitality industry preferred
- Experience selling luxury brands and experiential services preferred
- Strong negotiation and creative selling skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems such as Delphi
- Ability to conduct internet research and prospecting
- Effective sales and up-selling abilities
- Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and event service operations
- Understanding of guest room and meeting space inventory management
- Strong customer development and relationship management skills
- Familiarity with AV products and contract management
- Financial management capabilities including P&L understanding, budgeting and forecasting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to build guest and associate relations
- Presentation and organizational skills
- Effective closing and persuasion skills
Job Duties
- Builds top line revenue by adhering to sales strategy guidelines
- Identifies and pursues revenue opportunities based on event profiles
- Meets and exceeds individual revenue goals
- Manages customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs
- Conducts customer site inspections and sales calls
- Creates sales contracts and accurately forecasts group sleeping rooms and revenue
- Coordinates event details and maintains high customer satisfaction
- Acts as mentor for sales processes and proactively solicits new business
- Responds promptly to inquiries within market segment
- Collaborates with internal departments to ensure service delivery
- Participates in developing corrective action plans to improve guest satisfaction
- Demonstrates leadership and commitment to company principles
- Contributes to team results and effectively manages conflicts
- Allocates time and resources efficiently and overcomes obstacles
- Pursues continuous self-development and mentors others
- Uses hotel systems for managing customer information
