Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or 1-3 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combinations of education and experience
  • Current California Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions and understand measurements
  • Able to read recipes
  • Ability to speak and understand English both written and verbally
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work in a moderately noisy, hot or humid environment
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines consistently

Job Duties

  • Wash, cut and/or cook vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, poultry and/or seafood to prepare for use
  • Prepares and arranges vegetables and fruits for salads according to recipe and garnishes using hand and electric food service equipment
  • Set up of salad bar, cleans equipment, work area, utensils, and refrigerator
  • Uses prep lists to determine production for the day and prepares ingredients for and mixes salad dressings and sauces
  • Maintains a fresh and attractive salad bar as well as the organization and cleanliness of the restaurant
  • Assigned to other and/or multiple departments, besides primary job code
  • Work on special projects or assist with other work necessary or important to operations
  • May have job duties altered, reassigned, or transferred by management
