Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 8-10+ years experience with safety programs on civil construction projects
- Minimum OSHA 10 certification
- Experience implementing, monitoring, and managing safety for heavy civil construction projects
- Experience in implementing Behavior-Based Safety programs
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- OSHA 30 certification
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 8-10+ years experience managing safety programs on civil construction projects
- Experience implementing and managing safety for heavy civil construction
- OSHA 10 certification required
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience implementing Behavior-Based Safety programs
- Board of Certified Safety Professionals certifications preferred
- Familiarity with transit agencies such as PANYNJ, NJT, MTA, LIRR, Amtrak
- Experience with mega rail and transit projects
- Training in incident investigations preferred
- Tunneling experience a plus
- Experience supporting or supervising safety professionals
- Experience in Federal Transit Agency projects
- Certified Safety Professional certification preferred
- OSHA 500 certification preferred
Job Duties
- Serve as the site safety lead for NJ Surface Alignment, oversee DB contractor and subcontractors safety compliance
- Lead development of the safety culture for the program
- Review DB contractor’s safety plans, permits, and submittals for regulatory compliance
- Conduct and participate in project safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety standdowns
- Interface with Gateway Development Commission’s Safety Executives and support corporate safety guidelines
- Respond to, report, and investigate safety incidents 24/7 ensuring complete follow-through
- Work with the safety team to develop and report daily safety observations
