Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to operate department trucks safely
  • Willingness to undergo random drug and alcohol screening
  • Ability to perform pre and post trip inspections
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work a 10 hour day
  • Physical stamina for manual labor and equipment operation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience operating large trucks or similar vehicles preferred
  • Ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow safety protocols
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and operate equipment safely

Job Duties

  • Perform pre and post trip inspections on a daily basis
  • Operate all department trucks to collect trash and recycling on assigned routes
  • Place collected materials into appropriate department vehicles and offload in designated areas
  • Collect and separate recyclable items
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform minor repairs or diagnose problems in the field
  • Perform radio communication as needed
  • Ensure trucks are fueled daily and records are maintained
  • Assure trash and recycling are collected safely and follow safe operating procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
