Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to operate department trucks safely
- Willingness to undergo random drug and alcohol screening
- Ability to perform pre and post trip inspections
- Ability to maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment
- Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work a 10 hour day
- Physical stamina for manual labor and equipment operation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience operating large trucks or similar vehicles preferred
- Ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow safety protocols
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and operate equipment safely
Job Duties
- Perform pre and post trip inspections on a daily basis
- Operate all department trucks to collect trash and recycling on assigned routes
- Place collected materials into appropriate department vehicles and offload in designated areas
- Collect and separate recyclable items
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform minor repairs or diagnose problems in the field
- Perform radio communication as needed
- Ensure trucks are fueled daily and records are maintained
- Assure trash and recycling are collected safely and follow safe operating procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
