Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have one (1) year of prior Class B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years
- Must have a clean driving record with no more than two (2) convictions, or two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three (3) years, or a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident
- In lieu of experience, may accept a diploma from accredited driving school or combination of driving and prior Airgas specific experience
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License
- Valid USDOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Hazmat Endorsement (H or X Endorsement)
- Ability to operate a vehicle with an air brake system (no air brake restrictions on CDL)
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to read and comprehend material data sheets
- Prior experience in gas, welding and safety supply industries preferred
- HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
- May consider individuals with ability to acquire Hazmat Endorsement or skill to operate airbrake systems as a condition of employment
Job Duties
- Safely load, deliver and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to customer locations
- Collect empty cylinders or rejected or unsold merchandise
- Return empty cylinders to either a plant or branch location for refilling
- Provide timely communication to manager or customer's assigned Airgas sales associate regarding any changes or issues
- Perform cylinder inspections per operating procedures
- Maintain load manifests and all required vehicle documents ensuring compliance with safety standards and government regulations
- Strictly observe all safety rules and report any accidents or injuries to management
- Operate pallet jack, forklift and other warehouse equipment
- Work in warehouse or on dock as needed
