Job Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Must be able to facilitate effective communication
  • Must possess basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of proper table settings and service ware
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules as required by the hotel business needs
  • Physical ability to stand and move for up to 4 hours
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures ranging from -10°F to over 110°F
  • Capability to lift food trays weighing up to 30 lbs regularly
  • Ability to push and pull equipment weighing up to 150 lbs frequently
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and stretch for cleaning and servicing tasks
  • Manual dexterity to use and operate required equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a food server in a full-service restaurant
  • Customer service experience
  • Must be minimum legal age to serve alcohol
  • Food safety certification
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules

Job Duties

  • Take orders for and serve all room service requests using suggestive selling techniques
  • Ensure station and table set-ups are complete and perform various side duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Managers
  • Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of dining areas and servicing equipment
  • Attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings
  • Provide guests with courteous, friendly, and efficient service
  • Answer phones using appropriate verbiage
  • Set up room service orders promptly and accurately
  • Deliver food and beverage items to guest rooms and pool deck in a timely manner
  • Set up and deliver all amenities as required
  • Assist restaurant service staff as needed
  • Explain menu items and upsell when appropriate
  • Execute all financial transactions accurately
  • Perform side work as assigned
  • Collect and clear all trays from guest room floors
  • Maintain service and sanitation standards according to health code regulations
