Job Requirements
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co-workers
- Able to work quickly and efficiently especially under pressure
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to visually check work areas and maintain cleanliness
- Minimum lifting capacity of 30 pounds
- Knowledge of English and local language
- Ability to deal with the public professionally and courteously
- Ability to communicate with management and associates
- Ability to handle conflict professionally
- Must conform to hotel dress and grooming standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service roles advantageous
- Strong communication skills in English and local language
- Ability to work under pressure with efficiency
- Knowledge of local area and transportation helpful
- Familiarity with hotel and restaurant operations
- Ability to maintain professional grooming and appearance
- Good interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
Job Duties
- Greet and seat guests using Marriott service standards
- Ensure warm, friendly greeting and prompt seating
- Set tone for aggressive hospitality throughout meal period
- Supervise and control seating to balance server workloads
- Maintain guest flow charts and seating stations
- Report to work in proper uniform and grooming standards
- Follow all departmental rules and regulations
- Comply with Marriott's "clean as you go" policy
- Check and prepare tables to ensure cleanliness and setup
- Check on guests for feedback and address problems promptly
- Schedule servers for breaks with supervisor
- Assist in service when necessary
- Provide knowledgeable suggestions about the menu and local area
- Check out servers at end of shift and ensure completion of duties
- Communicate information to incoming staff and maintain message log
- Conduct menu classes and participate in taste panels
- Relieve cashiers for breaks
- Supervise service in lounge as assigned
