Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 4 years of culinary or related experience OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts or similar with minimum 2 years experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and handling standards
  • Ability to work full time at Sheraton Dallas Hotel, Dallas, Texas
  • Commitment to maintaining high quality and sanitation standards
  • Ability to manage budgets and operational goals

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • OR Two-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field
  • Two years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations and lead a team
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Experience in menu development and food presentation
  • Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  • Capable of managing budgets and meeting performance goals

Job Duties

  • Develops, designs, or creates new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products for the specialty restaurant
  • Supervises specialty restaurant kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
  • Maintains food preparation handling and correct storage standards
  • Plans and manages food quantities and plating requirements
  • Assists in developing daily and seasonal menu items
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Prepares and cooks foods of all types either on a regular basis or for special functions
  • Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products
  • Determines food presentation and creates decorative displays
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and food preparation workers
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage team members
  • Manages day-to-day kitchen operations and staff, including employee training, discipline, and performance appraisal
  • Sets and supports kitchen performance, budget, and team goals
  • Manages guest feedback, handles complaints, and ensures exceptional customer service
  • Participates in hiring and training of kitchen employees
  • Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings
  • Ensures and enforces safety standards and proper handling of all food products
  • Encourages and fosters mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
