Job Requirements
- must be legally permitted to work in the united states
- must be twenty-one years of age or older
- valid class a commercial drivers license (CDL-A)
- valid DOT physical examination (medical card)
- 1-year commercial motor vehicle driving experience within the previous 5 years
- safe driving record with clean MVR
- knowledge of local major and minor roadways
- working understanding of safe load securement and tie-downs
- working knowledge of motor carrier safety regulations and DOT guidelines
- strong work ethic
- ability to work effectively with different personality types and all levels of associates
- ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances including weather and traffic
- ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
- working knowledge of handheld technology
- ability to operate in extreme outdoor conditions
- must live within 20 miles of Los Angeles
Job Qualifications
- valid class a commercial drivers license (CDL-A)
- valid DOT physical examination (medical card)
- 1-year commercial motor vehicle driving experience within the previous 5 years
- safe driving record with clean MVR
- knowledge of and/or experience driving delivery trucks and towing tandem axle utility trailers
- knowledge of local major and minor roadways and ability to use maps and directions for delivery routing
- working understanding of safe load securement, tie-downs, and transport
- working knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety regulations/DOT guidelines
- working knowledge of handheld technology (smartphone, laptop, tablet)
- ability to operate in extreme outdoor working conditions
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- ability to convey complex or technical ideas in easy-to-understand terms
- negotiating and complaint resolution skills
- ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot
- experience in the equipment rental industry is a plus
- basic knowledge of compact construction equipment is preferred
Job Duties
- utilizes company technology platform to document all work performed
- accurately obtains required signatures on rental contracts
- remains current on local licensing and safety requirements
- maintains professionalism in appearance, dress, and personal conduct
- assists with deployment of new equipment to store locations
- performs PDIs and delivers equipment to stores
- trains store associates on equipment operation
- completes check-in and check-out procedures for equipment
- maintains accurate parts and fleet inventories
- operates semi tractor-trailer with 53’ flatbed trailer and class 7 straight truck commercial motor vehicle and retriever unit
- loads and unloads equipment on trailer or flatbed truck
- properly secures and tie-downs equipment
- performs local deliveries and pick-ups of rental equipment to customer job sites
- demonstrates proper and safe equipment operation to customers at the point of delivery
