Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • no prior experience required
  • availability to work three 12-hour shifts per week including weekend rotation
  • willingness to work one major and one minor holiday annually
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • basic computer literacy
  • ability to handle patient interactions professionally
  • bilingual candidates encouraged to apply

Job Duties

  • Serve as the liaison between the physician and patient
  • answer telephone calls and determine the nature of patient and incoming calls
  • schedule appointments
  • route calls and take appropriate messages
  • pull charts for messages
  • greet patients and family members
  • obtain registration and insurance data and update billing system
  • facilitate patient flow into the practice
  • perform charge entry
  • manage referrals and pre-certifications
  • schedule specialist appointments and diagnostic tests
  • attend to patients using age-appropriate principles of growth and development
