Job Duties
- Welcomes and checks in patients greeting them professionally
- verifies patient information and ensures all signatures and authorizations are obtained
- assists patients in obtaining missing authorizations or referrals
- tracks patients' arrival time to ensure timely appointments
- assists other front office personnel as needed
- checks out patients reviews fee sheets and explains charges and doctor instructions
- schedules return appointments and diagnostic testing as needed
- collects payments for services rendered
- places telephone calls to confirm appointments and follow up on no-shows
- provides back-up support on telephones ensuring reception area is neat
- enters appointment recall cards and compiles daily preauthorization lists for the supervisor
