Job Duties

  • Welcomes and checks in patients greeting them professionally
  • verifies patient information and ensures all signatures and authorizations are obtained
  • assists patients in obtaining missing authorizations or referrals
  • tracks patients' arrival time to ensure timely appointments
  • assists other front office personnel as needed
  • checks out patients reviews fee sheets and explains charges and doctor instructions
  • schedules return appointments and diagnostic testing as needed
  • collects payments for services rendered
  • places telephone calls to confirm appointments and follow up on no-shows
  • provides back-up support on telephones ensuring reception area is neat
  • enters appointment recall cards and compiles daily preauthorization lists for the supervisor
