Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum six months work experience in a customer service setting
  • Ability to pass competency test in primary reception area and telephone communication skills checks within approximately 3 to 6 months
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work with diverse patient populations
  • Ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively with all personnel and the public
  • Ability to act professionally with practitioners, staff, and the public
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA requirements
  • Knowledge of and ability to use email
  • Ability to use and learn online systems such as electronic medical records and appointment scheduling
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks appropriately
  • Ability to be flexible in daily assignments
  • Ability to take and relay messages accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to use a keyboard for most of the shift
  • Ability to sit or stand for up to 3 hours at a time and frequently stand up and down from desk chair
  • Ability to frequently bend and reach from standing and sitting positions
  • Ability to speak and listen in person and on the telephone

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet and check in patients for laboratory, radiology, ultrasound, and X-ray appointments
  • Accurately enter and release lab, radiology, and ultrasound orders in the system
  • Rotate between front desk reception, call center support (Lab/Radiology phone room), and scheduling appointments
  • Manage patient inquiries over the phone
  • Maintain clear communication with patients and clinical staff to ensure efficient appointment flow and service delivery
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and follow all clinic policies and procedures
  • Assist in maintaining orderly front desk and appointment schedules
