Job Requirements

  • Must meet company internal mobility policy and residency requirements
  • Be in good standing with current role performance and tenure
  • Ability to lift and carry weights between 50 to 70 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and bend frequently during shifts
  • Must comply with all safety standards and protocols
  • Flexibility to work shifts between 20 and 40 hours weekly
  • Must comply with Delta Air Lines recruitment and hiring practices

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in physical labor or ground operations preferred
  • Ability to operate machinery such as baggage tugs or belt loaders is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, overnights, and weekends
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Job Duties

  • Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft
  • Guide incoming and departing aircraft from gate positions to ensure timely connections
  • Safeguard cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and inclement weather
  • Safely operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in congested areas
  • Operate baggage scanners and computers to ensure accurate routing of baggage to customer destinations
  • Adhere to safety-conscious behaviors and operational procedures to maintain a safe work environment
  • Perform physically demanding tasks including bending, lifting, standing, and walking, often in harsh weather conditions
